Our Story
Goodhope Welfare Organisation (GHWO) was born from a simple yet profound belief: every child deserves dignity, health, and the opportunity to dream. Founded in northern Bangladesh, we began as a small group of local volunteers who saw what others overlooked—children living in orphanages who had food and shelter, but lacked the most basic elements of health and care.
What started as informal visits to nearby orphanages soon revealed a much larger truth. Across the region, thousands of children were growing up without soap to wash themselves, without toothbrushes to care for their teeth, without access to eye or ear screenings, and without the feminine hygiene products that adolescent girls desperately needed.
These were not complex problems requiring massive infrastructure. They were simple gaps—gaps that could be closed with compassion, organization, and dedicated effort. And so GHWO was formally established, registering with the NGO Affairs Bureau of Bangladesh and the Department of Social Welfare to ensure transparency, accountability, and lasting impact.
